Pictured above are David Greenwood and Nick Turnham behind David's Ural at The Three Magpies in Wiltshire. David sent the Cossack Owners Club news of The Ace Cafe Military Vehicle and Poppy Day which he's going to, as he usually does. This is at Ace Corner, N Circular Rd., London NW10 7UD. The Ace's phone number is 02089611000 and their website is london.acecafe.com
The event begins at 9.00am on Sunday November 9th and features pretty much anything military or vaguely so. There'll be all the usual Jeeps, Trucks and Re-enactment and a remembrance service. Soviet motorcycles fit right in seamlessly. David tells me quite a few turned up last year.
Nick Turnham is almost our new Treasurer. Perhaps he is by now. When I last spoke to him he was considering the post so seriously I was sure he was going to take it. We should all be profoundly grateful for that and buy him a drink at the next camping weekend, although probably not all at once!
By the way, The Three Magpies 2026 is going to be a bit special next year and likely to be over the weekend of May 29th, 30th and 31st. It's the 50th Three Magpies camping weekend with a special 50th anniversary event. More later.
We have a new Membership Secretary, well volunteered Richard Makara! For the moment Gina is still listed on the website as Membership Secretary because I think she's still helping with the transfer of responsibility. Watch Horizontal View for a profile of Richard and, possibly, new Membership Secretary contact details.
Finally, the MZ Club is holding its Yeti Hunt camping weekend near Bristol, so called because it snows when they go looking for yetis in Yorkshire. Bynnzi knows all about it at bynnsi@gmail.com The site has a community space, presumably dry if it rains.
