SOUTHEND
SHAKEDOWN RUN
Now in its
12th year, the annual Southend Shakedown Run from Ace Cafe London is
their first of the season and the biggest free motorcycling event in
Essex. This years ride-out on Easter Bank Holiday Monday 24th March,
departs at 10.30am, and is set to be a bumper ride!
Not only
is the cafe celebrating its 70th Anniversary this year, but Havens
Hospices, which incorporates Little Haven Children's Hospice, the
charity that the Southend Shakedown has supported from the outset, is
also celebrating it's 25 years of care.
All the
love and care that Havens Hospices provides is free of charge. However,
it costs the charity nearly £5 million to continue its unique and vital
services with limited funding from the government, so please make sure
that you buy one of the commemorative badges that will be being sold on
the Ace Cafe London stand, or pop your loose change in to the collecting
tins.
This event
attracts in excess of 20,000 riders, so just think what a
£1 donation could achieve! |

Dent -
Dent village is on the road to no-where
as in 3 roads lead to Dent. Cobbled street all the way through. You have
the choice of 2 pubs, and Ill try to put a barrel of real ale on at
cost price.
We have done food twice but not sure if we'll do it again because its
not a pre-booked rally so Im never sure of numbers attending. The camp
site is very biker friendly, Mick does a full breakfast for about £3.50
and its the same price for campsite fee.
Run out on the Saturday- thinking of going over to Wrynose pass
this time. |

Mad Hatters Camping weekend
- Middleton Cheney in Banbury
Our main event of the year and each
year it grows ever more popular. The site is behind F2 Motorcycles Ltd,
has showers, toilets and hot freshly cooked food. Any make of bike is
welcome. This is a camping weekend for those who enjoy good company and
a chat around the camp fire, away from the hustle and bustle of daily
life. NO trade stands, children, dogs or amplified music. There is a run
out Saturday or Sunday and a campfire every night. Nearby pubs, £12 per
tent for all weekend. Every year we collect monies for a local charity,
please give generously. |

Sidecar Camping Weekend
Popham
Airfield Hampshire
The airfield manager has
allowed us access to the site again this year so come and enjoy a camping
weekend with Team Grim and Popham Airfield.
The airfield is one of the
nicest that you could wish to visit, There are toilet facilities water stand
pipes and the biggest field that you could wish for with plenty of room for
people to play safely without getting in the way of the camping area.
The
airfield lies directly on the north side of the A303 dual carriageway which runs
roughly east-west about ten miles south west of Basingstoke in Hampshire. The
airfield is accessed from either direction on the A303; by using the slips
signed Micheldever Station & Overton. There will be sidecar signs on both slips
from lunchtime Friday.
This event was previously
organized by Phil Primmer of West Country Sidecars who as many of you will know
is retiring. We took over the mantle to keep this great camping weekend going
in 2006 and had so much fun we are doing it again, and would like to invite
everybody who has an interest in Sidecars to come along.
